One of the things I have never grown out of is LEGO. Ever since I was tiny, I liked it. I admit, I did have some periods where I really wasn't interested, but I've always liked it at heart. Practically every Birthday/Christmas I ask for a LEGO set.
My collection is quite large, though nothing when you look at what some of the people have got on Youtube. I was into collecting Star Wars LEGO until roughly a year ago, when I decided to drop Star Wars and take up LEGO City. After all, it is the classic collection, and it's a hell of a lot cheaper. With SW LEGO, they have to pay George Lucas a whole ton of money.
Even though I do have a massive box of random LEGO bits, I don't really like coming up with my own creations. I'm more of a collector, who adores building LEGO when you have a set of instructions. Also, quite simply, 99.9% of the time, the genuine LEGO set will look a whole lot nicer than your own alternative.
Lastly, LEGO has a hell of a lot of uses. You can even build houses (James May's Toy Stories, check it out!) and Gary and Sergei Brin, the Google brothers, even built their first server racks out of LEGO, when they didn't have much money (I got this from The Google Story, again good book, worth a read).
