I have been following football all my life, and never have I seen a deadline day so action packed as yesterday's. To my great delight, AC Milan brought in two absolutely world class players in Ibrahimovic and Robinho and I think with their help we can win the league easily. Other rather surprising deals included Hleb joining Birmingham: I think that it was a very bad decision on his part. Firstly, Birmingham are no way near his class. Hleb is a guy who played for Arsenal, Stuttgart, and Barcelona, all leading teams in their respective divisions. For him to join a lower-mid table side I don't understand. Money have something to do with it...
Another thing I want to mention which I really don't understand is why oh why do clubs wait till 10 minutes before the bloody transfer window closes before making an offer for a player. You have two bloody months. Its as if it's a game to see how close they can cut it. Still I guess this provides entertainment for those following it closely.
Lastly, I think that it is ridiculous how much money clubs lose through transfers. Everyone is complaining of global meltdown and recession, nobody having any money etc... If clubs want money, don't start buying players for 30 million and selling them two years later for half the price! (eg Robinho and Ibrahimovic [Milan have the option to buy him at the end of the season for 24 million]).
