James Toney

I honestly couldn't think of anything to write on, so I figured why not write about someone who has been getting a lot of publicity recently, that person being James Toney. He is my favourite fighter whether it be in boxing or MMA and I don't understand why everybody is considering him to be an epic fail after his loss to Randy Couture.

If you gave boxing gloves to Randy Couture, told him to go off and train for 9 months, then to come back and face Toney in the ring, he would, I'm pretty sure, get knocked out in the first round. I think that, firstly, if Toney had been facing a slightly less good opponent (Couture is arguably the greatest heavyweight the UFC has ever seen), he would have been able to win.

If it's Toney's attitude that's the problem, all fighters are like that. They're always bragging about how they're going to knock the other person out. I mean take the Harrison vs Haye fight that's scheduled for November 13th this year. They were already getting at it in the press conference. For me, it was good entertainment.

But in a sense I do agree with Dana Smith, the president of UFC: James Toney should probably just go back to boxing. He's a reigning heavyweight champion, and he should avoid the world of MMA as, it honestly isn't his thing. He doesn't have the physique and he has left it too late in his career to try and make the switch. He's 42 for crying out loud!
